Break Description
Epic right-hand reef/point break. Very consistent, perfect and powerfull, known as one of the best breaks in Costa Rica. Playa Negra starts to really turn on when it's a couple feet overhead, and can hold almost triple overhead without closing out. Very playfull and fun surfing when its around head high. Catching it Good
Best on mid to hight tide, getting a bit rocky and shollow on low. It begins to show the form it's famous for when it gets a few feet overhead.
Getting There
5 Km. south of Avellanas, look for the signs leading to Pablo Picasso's Restaurant(Hamburgers as big as your head).
